doctor who meme : two quotes [1/2]
My friends have always been the best of me.
Just wanna put this out there…
It irks me when people tag their hate.
And I don’t even mean that they tag the character they’re hating. It irks me when they tag anything. I don’t want to read about how much you hate Martha Jones in the “Rose Tyler” tag. Please, I love Martha Jones. I may only be tracking Rose’s name, but that’s just because Rose is my favorite. That doesn’t mean I don’t think Martha is a complete and total BAMF. Because she is.
I don’t even tag my analytical opinions when it brings out the more negative points in a character. I have some qualms about the story and writing that River Song was given, but even though I don’t hate River herself, I never tag my meta about River regardless, because I want nothing I write to be misconstrued as hate by fans who only want to read positive things about the people and characters they love. I understand that if someone made an analytically reasoned post about why Rose’s writing was sexist, I would go off on their ass with some analyses of my own.
I’m tagging this post with a bunch of characters because I want people to see it, so I hope no one does misconstrue this as hate of any kind. (I merely used River as an example, and again, I don’t hate her character at all.) I just wish people would learn that no one cares that you think that “Rose is ugly” or “Martha is whiny” or any of that. You’re welcome to post that on your own blog, but if your opinion is going to be all negative without reason, please don’t tag it. The rest of us don’t enjoy seeing hate for any characters in the tags we track.
However dark it got, I’d turn around and there they’d be. If it’s time to go, remember what you’re leaving. Remember the best.
